Code is code, right? Well, not exactly… At TBH Creative, we develop 'table-less' HTML markup that makes full use of cascading style sheets (CSS) capabilities. Many other web companies do not uphold this high standard.

Who cares and why does that matter?

At the beginning of the Internet days, web pages were built by slicing the graphics up into little squares and aligning them back together with HTML tables — a lot of columns/rows/boxes and tons of messy and unnecessary code. All of this 'extra' code caused slow load time. This method also made it extremely difficult to make changes or redesign — sometimes to the extent of having to slice up and re-code from scratch. 

This got the job done just fine but technology has evolved and there are new and better ways. Today, CSS and XHTML allow a smart web developer to separate all of the design and style elements from the base content. Building code this way makes change easy and universal (updated in just one file). Even redesigning is much simpler because the only thing in your HTML files is the data. The new and correct coding techniques also allow your website to load faster and scan more efficiently by search engines.
